The first edition of the RacquetX racquet sports congress has ended successfully. The rackets, balls, paddles, playing courts and other sports equipment were collected from the Miami Beach Convention Center, but the spirit of collaboration between the racquet sports disciplines will remain very much alive and with a promising future.
During the three days of the event, March 24-26, 2024, several racquet sports were represented, with tennis, pickleball and padel standing out above the rest. Within the facility, 4 padel courts, 4 pickleball courts and 1 tennis court were deployed where different activations, clinics, tournaments, etc. were held.
In the different sessions, round tables and presentations that were held, the common element was that of collaborating and cooperating between the different disciplines rather than competing with each other. In line with this trend, the concept of cross-court-player was discussed, that is, a player who practices different racket sports on a daily basis, as it is seen that it is a profile that is clearly increasing.
The Congress started with a Welcome Party held at the facilities of one of the paddle tennis clubs with the best views of the city, Reserve, in the port area of Miami. In addition to all the activities developed at the Convention Center, on Monday night both attendees with VIP passes and the staff of the companies that hired an exhibitor enjoyed a night of tennis at the Miami Open that is held annually at the Hardrock Stadium.
In reference to the three sports that had the most visibility at RacquetX, tennis is a very established sport in the US, pickleball is considered the fastest growing sport in the country with nearly 50 million players who practice it and paddle tennis is the new jewel in the crown, being the fastest growing sport worldwide and now with a clear focus on the United States.
We believe that a stepping stone has been laid for something bigger that is to come. At GM Racket Sports it was a pleasure to be part of the 1st edition of RacquetX with our stand that caused a sensation due to its visibility. There, we received a multitude of visits and business opportunities were opened throughout the Americas.
